This article presents the results of research and a doctoral thesis by the first author, supervised by the second author, developed in the field of higher education, specifically on medical education, which presents the need and feasibility of implementing a Medical Residency Program in Genetics in Bolivia with a transdisciplinary approach. There is currently no offer of Medical Residency in Genetics in Higher Education Institutions that train doctors in Bolivia. Based on a comparative analysis with international programs and the complexity paradigm, a curriculum design is proposed that integrates knowledge of molecular biology, bioinformatics, medical ethics, public health, and several other branches of academic knowledge. The lack of genetics specialists in Bolivia creates a training and clinical gap that negatively impacts the healthcare system. The methodology used includes the analysis of existing programs, interviews with experts, and an epistemological approach based on transdisciplinarity. The originality of the research result consists of the original presentation of concept, formative perspective and curricular design, with potential to be implemented in the Bolivian training system, in Medical Residency in Transdisciplinary Genetics. It is concluded that the implementation of this program would significantly improve medical care, strengthen research, and enable the development of advanced genetic diagnostics in the country.
