FLORISTIC-TAXONOMIC STUDY OF THE ASTERACEAE OCCURRING IN THE LOCALITY FAZENDA VELHA - VALENÇA DO PIAUÍ - AND THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE TEACHING OF BOTANY

The present work addresses the floristic-taxonomic study of the Asteraceae family occurring in the locality Fazenda Velha and its contributions in teaching. The family has a wide diversity, being characteristic for its chapter-type flowers, presenting mostly flowering between the months of April/May, its is a dried fruit called cypsela and its modified calyx, known as papus, is characteristic of open, mountainous areas and with lower incidence in forest areas. From the floristic survey it was possible to evidence six species and four tribes through the identification and description of morphological data, the study gathers records of the taxa that make up photographic boards. It presents a key for the identification of the species and the didactic guide of plant morphology of the species Tridax procumbens L, in order to corroborate with the teaching of botany through precepts of morphology that arouse the curiosity and appreciation of the regional outside.
