This article addresses, based on a review of the relevant literature and semi-structured interviews with bath and herb sellers from Ver-o-Peso, the following points that are characterized as the most relevant to our research: family tradition and working time; the relevance of social programs for the continuity of the herbalists' profession; the origin of raw materials for preparing baths and other products; the purpose and use of the products sold and informality. Thus, it was found that the majority of interviewees inherited their craft and knowledge from relatives, mainly from grandmothers and mothers, although some cited support from social programs; many of the interlocutors frequent the space and have worked there for a considerable time; It was also noted how relevant the contribution of social projects is to the continuity of the herbalist's craft, as well as the fact that the raw materials come from the surroundings of the city of Belém and other municipalities. It was observed that each product is sought after based on its ability to solve consumer demands, as well as the relationship between its earnings and the volatility of its sales.
